When we were pregnant with our first-born and spoke with other parents about the toys they liked and used the most, one of the big topics of conversation was the lack of certainty with regards to the materials used in the more commercially available wooden toys. Parents were keen on purchasing toys that encouraged constructive play, however most were wary about the manufacturing process and the safety of the finished product.
It was with this in mind that a hobby and passion turned into a home-business.
Painted Turtle Wooden Toys seeks to provide parents with peace of mind when it comes to purchasing their children's wooden toys, as well as providing them with a piece that will stand the test of time. In an age where plastic toys and video games wear out and go out of date in the blink of an eye, our hope is that these durable and high quality toys hold a special place in the hearts of the children that play with them and are passed down from generation to generation.
Each Painted Turtle Wooden Toys piece is handcrafted and finished by James. The wood we use is locally sourced from an environmentally responsible sawmill and our finish is certified organic, food-grade hempseed oil from a farm in Manitoba. We strive to keep all our materials as Canadian as possible and have a mandate of full disclosure.
We fully stand behind our products and welcome your questions, concerns, and comments. Thanks for stopping by!
